Proteome Sciences

Proteome Sciences, formed in 1994 is one of the oldest companies dedicated to proteomics research using mass spectrometry to enable new understanding of diseases process, identify drug targets and predictive biomarkers, supporting the development of novel therapeutics and diagnostics.

The Company has two laboratories situated in Frankfurt, Germany (since 2002) and San Diego, California (Since 2024) that serve a global list of customers across industry and academia. We led the innovation of isobaric mass tagging through our Tandem Mass Tag products (TMT® and TMTpro™) which are sold by Thermo Scientific under license from our subsidiary Electrophoretics Limited. We are also developing multiplexing reagents for DIA mass spectrometry with the capacity to deliver up to 11-plex and beyond.

Our workflows include highly sensitive and accurate quantitative proteomics of cells, tissues and biofluids, single cell proteomics, immunopeptidomics, cell surface proteomics, various chemoproteomic methods and targeted mass spectrometry of challenging biomarkers.

We aim to develop new tools and biomarker assays that have the potential to transform disease management and treatment through from the research setting to clinical trials. Our proteomics expertise provides complementary and enabling content and insight for our customers to develop more effective, time and cost-efficient healthcare solutions.

Within MIPrecise we will deliver and benchmark targeted mass spectrometry for early cancer biomarkers that are enriched using molecularly imprinted polymers developed elsewhere in the consortium. This work will allow the doctoral candidate to learn the fundamentals of sample preparation, production of reference standards, assay development, validation and ultimately delivery through a GCLP-accredited laboratory.
