The Department of Molecular Biology at Umeå University, has a long tradition in high education and research in comprehensive areas of biomedicine and life sciences. The Department hosts several strategic cancers including: The Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS), the Swedish’s node in the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular medicine, and Wallenberg Center for Molecular Medicine, Wallenberg Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data-Driven Science are located at Umeå University. These centers offer the most advanced research centers in infection and cancer.
Led by Jenny Persson, research will focus on using single cell-based technologies, next-generation sequencing and proteomics. Bioinformatics and AI machine learning algorithms-based model for discovery subpopulations of metastatic cancer cells using biomarkers for patient stratification and prediction of treatment.
